There are normally ten budget bills, but this year there is an additional one that legislators may use for some one-time spending for short term projects and to pay off some of the state’s bond debt.  The “Standings” budget and this new “Standings II” budget are both catch-all bills where legislators throw things that they couldn’t get passed the traditional way, or issues that had a last-minute agreement. So if your legislator tells you its too late to do something – suggest throwing it in the Standings bill where everything is fair game!

Below is the current status of these eleven budget bills.  Only two have been sent to the Governor; the rest are either in conference committee or on their way to conference committee.

  • Administration/Regulation Budget (SF 2342): Senate Floor, with House Amendment
  • Agriculture/Natural Resources Budget (HF 2458): House Floor, with Senate Amendment
  • Economic Development Budget (HF 2460): Senate Floor (no amendments filed; likely to avoid conference)
  • Education Budget (SF 2347): Conference Committee (Reps. Dolecheck, Highfill, Steckman, R. Taylor, Winckler; Sens. Schoenjahn, Boettger, Horn, Quirmbach, Sinclair)
  • Health/Human Services Budget (HF 2463): Senate Floor, with Senate Committee Amendment
  • Infrastructure Budget (SF 2349): Conference Committee (Reps. Huseman, Cohoon, Dunkel, Landon, Maxwell;l Sens. McCoy, Anderson, Beall, Bowman, Kapucian)
  • Justice Systems Budget (HF 2450): Conference Committee (Reps. Worthan, Anderson, Gustafson, Hess, T. Taylor; Sens. Courtney, Chelgren, Garrett, Hogg, Taylor)
  • Judicial Branch Budget (HF 2449): Sent to Governor
  • Transportation Budget (SF 2130): Sent to Governor
  • Standings Budget (HF 2473): House Floor (no amendments – yet)
  • Standings II/Debt Reduction Act: TBA, not yet introduced (this is the one-time funding bill)
