#IamMedicaidIowa

The Iowa legislative session has begun! Medicaid managed care will be a big issue this year. One way you can advocate this year is to participate in Disability Rights Iowa’s #IamMedicaidIowa campaign.

Disability Rights Iowa wants Iowans to use social media to share their stories about Iowa Medicaid, using the #IamMedicaidIowa.  This is a great opportunity to tell your story in a positive way, to make sure your legislators see faces instead of dollar signs when considering Medicaid Managed Care issues.

Not only will YOU be advocating for an issue you care about; DRI will also be sharing your photos and stories with legislators during the 2018 session.

If Medicaid Managed Care is an issue important to you - join the #IamMedicaidIowa movement and share your story.  Here's how:

  1. Print the #IamMedicaidIowa Instructions and Printable Sign and have your picture taken holding the sign.

  2. Tell your story about Medicaid, or use a prepared statement created by DRI (found here).

  3. Send your photo and story to IamMedicaid@driowa.org.

  4. Post your picture and statement on social media (twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) and encourage others to join!  Don’t forget to tag DRI on Facebook at @disabilityrightsiowa.org

  5. Use our new Grassroots Action Center to post on your elected officials' facebook pages or tweet them.  Click here to try it out!
